Project week with Studio Hahn Hosemann
The advent of 3D printing isn't solely responsible for making mass production accessible beyond large-scale industries. Platforms like Etsy, webshops, and Instagram have also enabled the distribution of small batches of components or products to consumers.
The challenge during the Compact Week was to produce ONE HUNDRED identical objects using analog methods such as templates, molds, or patterns. Proven tools like milling templates, press or stamping molds, adhesive frames, drilling guides, welding templates, printing devices, complex apparatuses, and casting molds were employed to manufacture components, small parts, furniture elements, and more in a limited series of 100 units.
The result of this week wasn't just an individually designed tool but also a hundred unique individual pieces. Irregularities, coincidences, and even production errors were seen as potential sources of new design directions and qualities. Welcome to a time where analog craftsmanship and creative innovation intersect to create exceptional products.
