Gravo
A market hall with flexible usage
After years of vacancy, the production hall of Gravo Printing is being transformed into a market hall. The main focus is on fixed stalls, which provide a clear rhythm to the space and serve as a distinctive design element for the interior with their reconstructed concrete precast panels. The freely usable areas can be utilized during the weekends for farmers' markets and various events such as readings, exhibitions, or flea markets. The floor openings between the levels create a connection, allowing the light from the shed roofs to penetrate down to the ground floor. The result is a place that invites visitors to explore and enjoy while also reflecting the history of the industrial hall in its design. A new cultural hub emerges, where market life intertwines with culture and culinary experiences.
The concrete slabs of the WBS 70 apartment type can also be dismantled due to their simple construction principle. Ideally, these panels are not simply destroyed, but reused for the new building after a thorough examination of the building materials. Reuse not only saves material and costs, but also conserves resources. Different types of panel elements in different formats are used in the market hall.
